AI Filter for YouTube
Last updated: May 3, 2026
Overview
AI Filter for YouTube helps users identify and vote on whether YouTube videos are likely AI-generated.
Data Collected
The extension does not collect personally identifiable information such as name, email address, physical address, age, account information, passwords, payment data, health data, personal messages, or location.
The extension stores some data locally in the browser using chrome.storage.local:
- extension settings
- local AI or Real vote state
- a randomly generated local voter ID
The random voter ID is not created from browser fingerprinting, device information, Google account data, or personal information. It is used only to help count one vote per browser installation.
Community Voting Data
When a user clicks AI or Real, the extension sends the following data to Supabase:
- YouTube video ID
- AI or Real vote
- random local voter ID
- timestamps
If the user enables “Show community scores for visible videos,” the extension may send visible YouTube video IDs to Supabase to retrieve community AI-score percentages.
Data Not Collected
The extension does not send or store YouTube account data, video titles, channel names, descriptions, images, audio, video content, full browsing history, mouse movement, scroll behavior, or keystrokes.
How Data Is Used
Data is used only to provide AI-likelihood labels, voting, community score percentages, and playlist filtering features.
Data Sharing
Data is stored in Supabase, which is used as the backend database and API provider for community voting. Data is not sold, rented, or shared with advertising platforms or data brokers.
Remote Code
The extension does not load or execute remote code. Supabase is used only as a data API.
